Hi, it?s Tyrone from Outsourcinglive.com and welcome to the dedicated channel where I share with you outsourcing tips and outsourcing strategies.
Now, in today?s video I want to share with you a tip on overcoming the fear factor or trust. This is a huge, huge topic on about outsourcing and I know that for a fact who first started outsourcing can get burned. I myself have experienced that as well and unfortunately it?s just the way that it has been. And the fact is, is that whatever you do within your life there are going to be risks whether or not you go out there and drive a car, you make it hit on the road, touch wood that doesn?t happen to you or you may ride a bike and something runs once you?re over. There?s nothing you can do about that expect to minimize the amount of risks out there and there are things that you can do to minimize the risk of getting yourself hit by a car or having an accident on - for example the road and you probably know they are.
But a lot of people what it is for outsourcing so what I?m going to share with you is just a few tips and few pointers on how you can minimize the amount of risks that you can take on with outsourcing. And by implementing something simple like these things can really, really save you a lot of time and also money, and also stress.
I know for me when I first started with outsourcing and I hired people from over in India, I had a lot stress, I just didn?t get the work done and I was just getting frustrated and annoyed. And it did cost me a lot of money as well too. So I just want to try to help you avoid those issues just by giving you some of these tips.
All right the first tip I want to share with you is when you do look at hiring, go to someone that?s a reliable source. There?s probably a reason why you?re watching this video, it?s because you know that all those resources and everything I provide for you is true and also too that they are reliable and they do work.
So what I?m suggesting to you right now is the same thing. If you?re going to hire someone from say the Philippines or you?re going to hire someone overseas to outsource your work to then look for reliable source to be able to do that. Now how can you find that? Obviously through recommendations, referrals and information that?s provided. Now I have a list of contacts and list of people who I do refer you to. You can check it out at Outsourcinglive.com/toolbox and there is links there that show you exactly who I recommend to but there?s very, very - really, really good service that I?ve been using a lot and I?ve referred a lot of people is called GetVirtualStaffFinder.com and I?ll make sure to put a link down there below for you.
It?s a great service because the fact is that they?re very reputable and reliable company. I?ve dealt a lot with them, I know the person, the CEO of their company personally his name is Chris Ducker and he does do a very, very good job with finding really good candidates for people. And that way you can minimize the amount of risks that you do take on board. You can obvoiusly go out there and find the person yourself and I?ve done that as well but it does take a bit of time and you don?t know what the risk factor is.
Now the reasons why I recommend the finding service is because one, because they live in the Philippines, or they have office within the Philippines and that?s one reason why. And also too, they speak the language. Secondly as well they do the interviewing and also filtering process for you as well which makes a huge difference. You don?t have to spend your time doing that and also too you trust that whatever you?re paying them as a fee, they?ll do it properly and also do reference checks and police checks and what not and those things you can get access as easily if you?re overseas.
So that?s one of my main tips is to look - make sure that you do go to a reliable finding service to look for the candidate. That?s the first tip. Second tip is with regards to any meeting that you have or really introduction to the person that you?re looking to hire, make sure that you do meet them on Skype. Skype is something that?s important to be able to see them face to face and ensure that you do have a video camera and a mic. Don?t communicate just through email on your first email because the fact is that you want to meet this person, see if they do work with you well and also see that they do also too sort of connect with you and you can sort of see that straightaway on a video.
Obviously the reason why I?m doing a video right now is because I just want to be able to share myself and this is my personality. I don?t hide anything, I don?t put an act on it or anything like that so you do see me and come across this way. If you?re to meet me in person, this is who I am, I just share - you know really good information with people and just want to be honest and upfront.
So that?s what is really important is to meet the person that you?re going to take on board potentially to outsource your work to on Skype via video and also have to make sure that you?ve got microphone. And it?s just important you - a simple meeting that makes over to about half an hour to 45 minutes so that you can really get to know and connect with them. And because Skype?s free, it doesn?t cost you anything, anyone can do it just make sure that they do have those components to allow for them to do.
All right and the final thing is that in order to be able to ensure that you do get the work that you want and also to ensure that the skill set is to match or very, very much the same as what you?re looking for, you want to make sure you test their work. I mean they can easily give you a whole stack of portfolio or whole stack of stuff saying that this is what I?ve done and these are all the past references and that?s great, that?s one aspect. But the second aspect is to really get them to do what they can say they do. And obviously it?s something that a lot of people lack trust in because once they actually hire them and then they realize after about a month or so, they?re not doing the work that you?ve asked them to do then they really, really get down and just find that outsourcing is really difficult.
So what you want to do is upfront you want to test them on their skill sets and by doing that you?ll be able to really, really filter through and see if they really are the right person. Now if you?ve come through the finding service, you?ve already eliminated one layer, the second layer obviously is to test them. And this second layer to test them is to give them a trial for about a week or two. Give them a task a quite challenging task depending on what it is, it maybe article writing, it maybe web development, it maybe something that is related to your business but give that one task to them and the fact is that you need to pay them as well because no one?s going to work for free so just agree on one amount for one week and just pay them the amount but if they are doing exactly what you?ve told them to do and they performed well for that first challenge or that first task then you?ve already overcome that major hurdle of the trust factor. And then after that, take them on full time or part time or hire them for whatever you need. And that?s I think the major - thing that you can do, the most important things that you can do to try and alleviate a lot of the issues that you may come across, the trust factor.
All right I hope that this week?s tip has helped you and I know that there are going to be few more other things that you need to look into when you do trust - or give trust to an outsourcer, but these are the most important things that I have found just from asking people who had issues with outsourcing and hopefully these tips acan also help you too.
All right, I love to hear your feedback, I love to hear your comments, if you do have anything that you want to ask about this, if you do have something that I didn?t cover inside this video, please feel free to ask just below here in this video that I?ve created at Outsourcinglive.com and I?ll be most happy to answer those questions for you.
