Adam Lambert Questions "Catty" Members of the Gay Community

Adam Lambert covers the latest issue of Instinct, a magazine that focuses on the LGBT community - and opens up to the publication on a topic that may cause some controversy for the former American Idol star.

Adam Lambert Instinct Cover

"As a community, we’re a little bit resistant to a gay male pop star ourselves," Lambert says. "It’s very easy for people to look at my origin, which is American Idol, and automatically assume that I’m a commercial sellout or a puppet or a flash in the pan.

"I don’t think I’m any of those things. There’s something weird there. We’re very eager to celebrate a strong female. But to celebrate a fellow gay man – it gets catty sometimes.”

The artist will soon be coming out with a new album, one he has described as especially personal, and he elaborated here regarding what fans can expect:

“This is the kind of music I listen to. I know the style of vocal I have is kind of big. It has a certain edge to it. I’ve always loved rock, but I also love stuff that is more groove-based, more funky, more soulful, more dance music.”

Samsung Galaxy Note for T-Mobile spotted in the wild, pretends it's no big deal

Oh, snap. By all appearances, the T-Mobile folks haven't lost sight of the popularity of the Galaxy Note, as a collection of snapshots obtained by TmoNews have revealed Samsung's phablet in none other than Magenta colors. At the very least, this suggests the Bellevue crew is considering bringing the 5.3-inch handset to its stores, and while the carrier's subscribers are currently able to use AT&T's Galaxy Note LTE on the Magenta network, it's a rather roundabout process and the results are less than ideal. We can only hope this one pans out, because really, who wouldn't love to take this monster for a proper ride on the little network that could?

ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 review

Image

It doesn't feel like a year has passed since we reviewed the original ASUS Transformer and its innovative keyboard dock, but indeed time flies, and quite a bit has happened since then. The company has released the Prime, for starters, followed by two other high-end models. And now, the OG Transformer is going the way of the dodo, as the affordable new Transformer Pad 300 (aka the TF300) takes its place. Though this newest tablet was announced back in February, it's only just going on sale in the US this week, starting at $379 for the 16GB version, and $399 for one with 32GB of built-in storage.

In addition to the fact that this replaces a truly memorable product, the TF300 is intriguing because it represents an even better deal for consumers: it borrows some design cues from the higher-end Prime, and also steps up to a similar 8-megapixel camera. Like the Prime, too, it runs an unskinned version of Android 4.0 and packs a quad-core Tegra 3 chip -- something you don't often see in a tablet this price. In short, the main differences between this and the Prime are battery life (10 hours versus 12), and the quality of the display (the 10-inch screen here offers 350 nits of brightness instead of 600). Those all sound like reasonable trade-offs and, frankly, they are. That's our abridged review, over and done with in just two paragraphs, but meet us past the break if you're craving a little more detail.

Microsoft: Windows 8 Preview Usage Up 2X From Windows 7 Beta

windows-8-metroMicrosoft launched its Windows 8 Consumer Preview at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona back in February. So far, the reactions to this first mainstream preview of Windows 8 have been somewhat mixed - not everybody is in love with the new Metro interface, for example - but it looks like that isn't stopping people from spending a lot of time with the Windows 8 preview. Indeed, according to Microsoft, "millions of people" are already using the Windows 8 preview every day and overall usage of the preview is double of what the company saw at the same point in time after launching the Windows 7 beta.

Guide to finding San Antonio real estate

If you?re looking to find property listings for sale you have several options available to you.. Whether you are shopping for investment property, or an owner-occupied home to live in, you can look up San Antonio real estate listings and homes for sale in a range of places.

Back in the days before the Internet the only way to search for homes for sale was by driving around the cities of interest to you watching for real estate signs. While this strategy is a bit outdated, it is still common and even enjoyable to find homes for sale with this approach. The main issue with this particular method is that you will probably invest a lot of time on the lookout for properties and find little or nothing that matches what you?re really looking for. Also, if you are wanting to find REO property, you might not locate them this way. Since foreclosures are not always listed by traditional real estate brokerages, there will often be no real estate for sale signs posted at the homes.

Another alternative strategy that is popular with home buyers to find San Antonio new homes for sale or LGI Homes is scouring the classified ads. This is definitely one of the ideal options to find real estate listed for sale while enjoying a hot cup of coffee in a local cafe. Not to mention the fact that you will probably have a whole lot of listings to choose from. But again, if you?re looking for bank owned property this is probably not your best option. While you may very well be capable of finding a good number of foreclosures in the paper or realty magazines, you probably won?t be able to find many at all.

Now with the Internet, finding real estate on the market has come to be drastically more painless. Every realty sales office has a realty search website that lists their listings. What?s more, many REALTORS have house search destinations that can browse the whole MLS system for up-to-date properties, and a majority of these sites are refreshed just about every day. You will also discover many popular web sites that show listings from numerous realty companies, but a lot of these are not advised, because the data is generally old. In addition, you will also find websites that target property foreclosures.

As you can see, locating homes for sale really isn?t a difficult process. Even though the Internet has taken over a large part of the real estate industry, it?s nice to have some variety and try out more old-fashioned techniques. It doesn?t matter what option you decide on, with a touch of perseverance, you shouldn?t have any problems searching homes for sale.

HTC One X disassembled

Android Central

See that beautiful display?  It can come out of the phone, but it's not something you'd want to do to yourself.  XDA China ?has posted instructions on how to disassemble the HTC One X.  It's not for the faint of heart, and the translation isn't perfect, but it's there for those of us that care about such things.

For someone like me (a self-professed hardware junkie) this is extremely interesting.  The One X is definitely one of the most desirable pieces of hardware to come from HTC in a while, and seeing how they package the components in the thin, one-piece polycarbonate shell really makes you realize how much work goes into the engineering of these things.

We get a good look at the display, which is the Super LCD 2 variety (learn more about display tech in our display tech discussion), Tegra 3 chip, and all the other various boards, chips, and cameras that make this phone awesome.

And see, the battery CAN be removed.
